Calculate Your JEE Rank
Zero Login RequiredCommon Rank List (CRL) vs. Category Ranks
When the National Testing Agency (NTA) declares the JEE Main results, every candidate receives a Common Rank List (CRL) rank. Candidates belonging to reserved categories (OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST) also receive a Category Rank.
1. How is CRL Rank calculated?
Your CRL is based on your overall percentile score relative to all unique candidates who appeared in both January and April sessions. For 2027, the unique candidate count is projected to reach 16,00,000.
2. How are seats allocated in JoSAA?
During JoSAA seat allocation, if you belong to a reserved category, you are first evaluated for general seats using your CRL. If those are unavailable, you are evaluated for reserved seats in your category using your Category Rank. Hence, your category rank is a direct measure of your admission chances.
Shift Normalization
Our algorithm uses actual NTA multi-shift equi-percentile calculation rules. It maps raw scores to historical difficulty distributions of each shift.
Fully Private
We do not ask for your name, phone number, email, or coaching center. Use the tool 100% anonymously without getting marketing spam calls.
Linked Admissions
Once your rank is predicted, our system automatically transfers your data into matching college branch options in the JoSAA database.
Understanding JEE Main Rank Calculation
The All India Rank (AIR) in JEE Main is calculated by combining normalized scores from all shifts. Because candidate counts and paper difficulty fluctuate, raw marks alone cannot determine rankings. NTA merges January and April sessions into a single master list using candidate percentiles.
Official Subject-Wise Tie-Breaker Rules (2027 Guidelines)
If two or more candidates obtain the exact same overall NTA Percentile Score, NTA applies the following tie-breaking criteria in strict sequential order:
- Mathematics Percentile: Candidate with the higher percentile score in Mathematics is ranked higher.
- Physics Percentile: If the tie remains, the candidate with the higher percentile score in Physics is ranked higher.
- Chemistry Percentile: If the tie remains, the candidate with the higher percentile score in Chemistry is ranked higher.
- Incorrect-to-Correct Ratio: Candidate with a lower proportion of incorrect answers relative to correct answers across all subjects is ranked higher.
- Age/Application Number: Older candidates were historically favored, but NTA currently defaults to ascending order of application numbers if all other parameters are identical.

JoSAA Category Reservation Quota Matrix
Statutory seat allocation percentages and dual merit-list evaluation rules.
General (OPEN / Unreserved)
Allocated strictly on Common Rank List (CRL). Open to all candidates irrespective of category if their CRL meets the branch cutoff.
OBC-NCL (Non-Creamy Layer)
Requires valid annual income certificate (< ₹8 Lakh/annum). Category rank multiplier is typically ~0.26x of All India CRL rank.
Gen-EWS (Economically Weaker)
Reserved for general category candidates with family income under ₹8 Lakh. Category rank is approximately ~0.15x of CRL rank.
SC & ST Communities
Statutory constitutional reservation with relaxed cutoff requirements. SC category rank is ~0.055x CRL; ST rank is ~0.025x CRL.
